Abstract

|
The cancer of head and neck is easier to detect than any other part of the body. The survival rate of. patient is dependent on the early diagnosis. Especially as the dentist examines the patient with cancer of head and neck at the first time, he must be alert and can effect on the disease of the patient seriously.
Although combined use of radiation therapy and chemotherapy improve the survival rate, the definitive treatment of head and neck cancer is surgery. Cancer surgery of head and neck region always acompanies the fuctional and esthetic defects. We must consider not only survival rate but also social problem and quality of life following the patient´s social reestabilish.
